Just a reminder to members that Stafford and Stone CND are meeting tonight at the Quaker House on Foregate Street Stafford (7.30pm). Tonight, National Council member, Owen Sloss will report on the last council meeting and we will make final arrangements for Hiroshima day and the Benefit Concert.
Just to update and remind friends and supporters that we will be manning a stall on July 13th between 11am and 1pm. If you are in town that day and can spare a couple of hours your help would be areciated, but if you can only spare a few minutes just pop along and sign our Stop Trident petition.
On July19th we will be holding our regular branch meeting at the Quaker House on Foregate Street at 7.30pm. At the meeting we will be discussing our plans for Hiroshima Day – so please make a point of attending.
Finally, but not least, we are delighted to announce that Stafford and Stone CND will hold a Benefit Concert on July 26th at the County Staff Club on Foregate Street, Stafford, starting at 8pm sharp. Bands playing include the magnificent Deacons, Steal The Stars, Dave Doehren, the Crooked Bawbies and an astonishing guitarist who many of you will not know named David Jiminez Hughes. Tickets are priced at £8 though we are offering a 50% discount to students and people on benefit. On May 17th Stafford and Stone Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament was formed. We are a small but enthusiastic bunch with dozens of ideas of activities and campaigns. First we have to raise some funds for our coffers and to that end we are holding a benefit gig in July – watch this space!!
